The Union House Ministry on Monday designated Dera Baba Nanak land submit in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, which would be the exit and entry level for visiting Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan, as an authorised immigration checkpoint.
In a notification, the ministry said that anybody with legitimate journey paperwork can exit or enter by means of the submit.
“In pursuance of sub-rule (b) of rule three of the Passport (Entry into India) Guidelines, 1950, the Central authorities hereby designates Dera Baba Nanak Land Verify Publish of District Gurdaspur, Punjab State as an authorised Immigration Verify Publish for entry into/exit from India with legitimate journey paperwork for all courses of passengers,” the notification said.
Kartarpur is positioned in Shakargarh, in Narowal district of Pakistan’s Punjab. Guru Nanak, the founding father of Sikhism, had spent greater than 18 years of his life there.
