Taliban storm Afghan jail, launch a whole lot of prisoners


Taliban insurgents stormed a jail within the central Afghan metropolis of Ghazni early on Monday, killing police and releasing a whole lot of prisoners, police mentioned.

The Taliban usually exaggerate casualty tolls in statements about assaults on authorities and overseas targets.

Mohammed Ali Ahmadi, deputy governor of Ghazni, mentioned 352 prisoners had escaped, together with round 150 Taliban. He mentioned seven Taliban and 4 members of the Afghan safety forces have been killed within the assault in Ghazni, about 120 km (75 miles) southwest of the capital, Kabul.

Safety officers wouldn’t affirm what number of prisoners have been within the jail or the variety of casualties.
