The statue of Unity:
The Prime Minister of India Dr. Narendra Modi on his latest declared the launch of the statue of Unity which is originally the great statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was titled as the Iron Man of India and was the first home minister of India after the independence. He was one the greatest Indian leaders who have won over the British leaders. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also responsible to led the welfare of the farmers in history.
The statue of unity is considered as the honourable tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 143rd birthday anniversary.
The statue of unity is seemed to the tallest and most huge statue in the world. The height of the statue is estimated to be 182 meters of height. This height is said to be two times taller than that of the statue of Liberty of New York and also taller than the Spring Temple Buddha in China.
The statue was built by Larsen and Toubro who completed it within less than five years of time. They made a contract of Rs.29.89 billions for the complete statue to plan and construct.
The statue id built in the Narmada district of Gujarat on a river island facing towards Narmada Dam which is near to Rajpata. It is built on an area of 4.9 acres which is surrounded by an artificial lake of about 3000 acres. It is stated by Dr. Narendra Modi that the statue aimed to be the impression of the future generation and also the symbol of national harmony and integrity.
The statue was inaugurated on 31 October 2018 by Narendra Modi in Surat. During the inauguration, along with Prime Minister of India Dr. Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Singh, chief minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani and Deputy chief minister Nitinbhai Patel had also visited the event which was held in a museum and an audio gallery near the venue of the statue of unity.
The best view of the statue is been observed from the observation deck whose ticket cost is Rs.350 per person. There is also online ticket booking facility available for the view. The observation deck is reached by an individual using the high speed elevators. One can view the complete statue along with the Narmada river surrounded by the hills and dams.
During usual time, the cost of the tickets will be Rs. 150 per person and Rs. 60 for the kids. The gate of the venue will be opened everyday from 9 am to 6 pm for the visitors or tourists. A complex have been made were hotels are available of the public to stay and enjoy the view overnight. For this complex, buses are also available which will help people to reach to it.
